A year ago (while writing for another blog) Phil Gerus hit me up w/ a request to check out his tunes. Fast forward to 2012 and Phil finally gets the deserved credit w/ a release on Jazzanova's Sonar Kollectiv as a part Based On Misunderstandings series. The style of production remains the same - analog-warm, pure melodic funkiness based on sampling vintage cassette tapes, but it's in my opinion Phil's best work to date, eastern european chillwave at it's finest.
