Innocent Sorcerers - Sweet Slang feat. Coultrain, Black Spade & Perpetual Rebel

Innocent Sorcers, one of the most well-deserved DJ collectives in Poland is celebrating their 10th anniversary. Recorded after the Hawthorne Headhunters gig in Warsaw in 2011, I've heard about this track lots of good things  and after a long wait it's finally out just in time for the 10th. Collaboration effect beetwen Maceo, Envee, Coultrain and Blackspade - soulful sounds of the future:

Nanna.B "Sum O´Sometimes"

Copenhagen collective of producers, MC's, DJs and Musicians, Greenshades Music are gearing up for their next release mid in October. Nanna.B, a Danish soulstress is the name that you should be definitely checking for. Her new single "Sum O'Sometimes" from the forthcomming album called Vitaphone, is a jazzy, soulful, and mellow track with live instrumentation coupled with Nanna.B's strong voice. From the sounds of this single, I can guarantee that you'll be humming this song in your heads for the rest of the day. The track is produced by Thøger Dixgaard aka Damp, who also did the majority of the tracks on "Vitaphone". The album will be availiable on blue vinyl LP. Enjoy the video shot in lovely Copenhagen, as well as the free download.
Have a nice weekend peeps!

Of Art And Artifice: A Ghostly International Exhibition

Very well respected and acknowledged American lable Ghostly International has now been providing top quality electronic music for 13 years. Through all these years, Ghostly has also become a multi-cultural platform for the work of internationally recognized visual artists, designers, technologists, and of course musicians. Their latest release is a FREE compilation in collaboration with Incase and has been dropped along with "Of Art And Artifice" exibition that took place in NYC earlier in September (hosted by Ghostly). It includes exclusive selections from the lable's always reliable roster, such as Shigeto, Lusine, Com Truise, Tycho, just to name a few, as well as some remixes from extended family members. Mark Ronson f. D’Angelo, “Glass Mountain Trust (B. Bravo & Teeko Re-Funk)”

We have written about The Starship Connection around a month ago, announcing the release of the new EP. The EP is out, but the guys from the Bay Area just don't stop. Teeko and B. Bravo teamed up again and put their fingers on Mark Ronson's "Glass Mountain Trust" featuring D'Angelo. The leaders of the Starship have done "how only they could" - funky as fuck! Grab the free download!

H.I.S.D. (Hueston Independent Spit District) - The Hue A.D. (EP)

I stumbled upon H.I.S.D. around one year ago, when Houston Radio Galaxy served up their full length spacy R&B/soul album, We Come In Peace (check the album!) and quickly became a fan of this Texas based collective. H.I.S.D. consists of Savvi (MC), Equality (MC), Scottie Spitten (MC; nice Scottie Pippen follow up), and King Midas (producer). They are a group of forward thinking music junkies, introducing a refreshing perspective to the sound, soul music, and hip hop culture, and I love it (who doesn't?). The new EP, called The Hue A.D, delivers electric relaxation to the often hasty Raposphere.
You can grab a green 12" vinyl with instrumentals. Each one hand numbered. Limited supplies, so keep that in mind.

Lapalux - Some Other Time EP

When Your Gone is probably my favorite EP in 2012, but Lapalux doesn't stop and is about to release the next one Some Other Time EP on October 16th through our favorite Los Angeles-based imprint Brainfeeder. If you missed it, few days ago Lapalux has put on sc, probably a throwback, a freebie - The Hours, but the actual first single dropped a few moments ago, fantastic stuff:

grooveman Spot - 「Paradox」[Forthcoming]

If you pay little attention to the Japanese scene, Groveman Spot may have passed you by. After his cosmic-head nodding album Runnin' Pizza, Tokyo DJ/Producer will release a new effort on October 17th this year via Jazzy Sport. Paradox will be a collage of many different styles of music, with innocent '80 sounds, like soulful house, boogie, electro, cosmic disco and hip hop. You know what I'm talking about if you heard Change Situations. Beatscapes can't wait!

Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to The Pharcyde

You on point Phife? 1nce again Tip, yes, yes ya'll and you just don't stop! This is what you want to shout when you wake up to a "mash-up" project of beats and rhymes from A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde. The man behind the project is Amerigo Gazaway. My first thoughts about this project were that I actually did follow his idea of doing such a mesh-up. The lineage of The Pharcyde's '92 debut, Bizzare Ride II the Pharcyde, surely features ATCQ's jazz-flavoured second LP The Low End Theory. The styles converged or at least had become very similar (not talking about the Labcabin album here). Excuse me if my reasoning is wrong, at least I tried to be rational in that comparison :)

I like The Pharcyde, but Midnight Marauders is my favorite album ever made (People Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rythm, Low End Theory, and Beats Rhymes And Life included. The Love Movment was good too).
Bizarre ride is a classic tho. And I still play it. That's why Bizzare Tribe: A Quest to The Pharcyde is so fucking good. Big ups to Amerigo Gazaway.

Xosar - Nite Jam/Elixir of Dreams

Stunning girl producing absolutely marvelous music, how cool is that? Although I'm not too much into her previous techno-related tracks, the leftfield-ghost-house stuff is really good. Xosar's latest 12'' to be released soon on Rush Hour has Nite Jam on the A-Side, but the flip-side is on totally different level:

Sure Thing - Holding You Tight

Bristol based Gutterfunk  is gearing up for it's 3rd release. People behind the absolute banger Holding You Tight, are DJ Die, Christophé, Desi Rogers, William Cartwright, Chloé Lang and Joker, w/ everyone doing totally different stuff on a daily basis (from garage to d'n'b). But good boogie funk is good, proven dancefloor filler. Essential 12'' hits stores next month.

Inside Out: Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp CD

I've been looking forward to this comp since the Warsaw Bass Camp itself, with such creative forces in the studio it just couldn't dissapoint. And it just doesn't. The CD collects 17 tracks made during the march sessions in Gagarin Studio and it's straight out of the box stuff, no gimmicks. The bandcamp link will be in a few days, all the tracks are now available HERE. S1 Warsaw published the CD version and it's free, so if you want a copy hit us up and we'll arrange sth for you :)

My personal highlight, apart from Zeppy Zep's I Knew, must be the Stinker by UKM Records heavy hitters Envee & Daniel Drumz, this fart is on their behalf:

Tornado Wallace - Stop Holding Back

With the million records that come out every day, it's just a matter of days before a release snows under and is forgotten. Not in this case and not in case of Sleazy Beat Recordings. Cause this record is sold out and the demand for this 12" is still very high telling that after what I saw on discogs (60 euro). Their releases are always strictly limited and always sell out. Quite understandable since Sleazy Family Sampler is a smashing record with "Stop Holding Back" on it, by Tornado Wallace, a hot mid-tempo guru from Melbourne, Australia. Enjoy the tune, and keep an eye with Sleazy Beats Recordings when they come out.

V.A. - PL Funky II

Polish Razzmatazz Records, a sublabel of JuNouMi Records, is gearing up to release a compilation later this month. This will include cuts from some of Polish dubstep and funk inspired producers including The Phantom, Zeppy Zep or Teezy of Supra1 to name few. Collaborative track "91" from Wirski and Kixnare calls back innocent house jams of the early 90's. A compilation that I definitely look forward to. This will be released on a 12" vinyl. Even better.

Presenting: Chrome Canyon (Stones Throw)

Looks like even Stones Throw has made the bandwagon jump on the cosmic-shlash-film score shade of 80's funk.  Chrome Canyon's debut album Elemental Themes drops on October 9th. First single's on soundcloud, second even got a clip and I should write sth moar about Morgan Z from NYC who is behind the project, but let the man speak for himself (on popgunTV):

Mecca:83 - Sketchbook Pieces

Manchester based producer Mecca:83 is a cat. While I dropped checking out most of the beatmakers, because they weren’t or stopped being worth it, Mecca:83 is still a pro. This one right here is a compilation of his favourite free download/collaboration/remix tracks from the last several months. 12 tracks of mellow and soulful beats and it is all for free. You can also donate few bucks if you dig!
