Most of the people would most likely never hear of Matthewdavid (maybe apart from the true diggers) if he wouldn't make the move from southern US to LA. Since in LA his sounds became embraced by the famous Brainfeeder community, Matthewdavid turned into somebody more recognizable.
Mathhewdavid just shared a new EP entitled Producers in 2012 Learn to Spread Love. Quite interesting title, I admit. What no doubt should catch your attention is the Rick James cover. The EP begins with the cover of the killa track "All Night Long" by mentioned Rick James. Two other songs are originals that may seem as echoed-out dub or slowed soul.
