The Lift is their recently released track from the forthcomming Alexis Davis project and is kind of a precursor of what is to come on July 13th (release of the whole project) & beyond. Sound Healers Vol.2

Sound Healers are back with some more ambient future beat stuff. Volume 2 (as Vol.1) has been put together by UK producer Bambooman. Om Unit - Aeolian EP

London's Om Unit is set to release his next EP titled Aeolian in July via Civil Music. With the theme and references to Greek mythology, and artwork designed by Kutmah, this EP is going to be a quite big hit this summer. This time, Om Unit is taking more of a hip hop approach, but still keeping some electronic features very characteristic to his previous releases. EP will be released on vinyl and digitally, and the digital version will feature two bonus remixes by Sweatson Klank and Reso. Listen to the preview below.

This is some real West Coast shit. Some real West Coast flava. Proximal Records run by Sahy Uhns is back with their new Beat Stew compilation. Volume 4 is full of dynamite tracks and takes the listener on a trip through a range of styles from hip-hop, electronica to some dope ass boogie funk tunes. Behind alias Tensei (literally translates to Heaven Star in Japanese) are the two guys Simple X and Midas Wells. The duo hails from Chicago, the city where house music has its strong roots. They came up with a brilliant remix of the track Wild Rumpus for their label buddies Sonymoon. Essential boogie on download, this track should be played at high volume on the long summer BBQ nights.

Zed Bias presents Yannah Valdevit - Gotta Keep Me Goin' / Pick Flowers

One of the most famous and well respected labels of independent electronic music from Brighton, UK, Tru Thoughts, is about to drop a new album this summer. Croatian singer, songwriter, producer and pianist Yannah Valdevit will be releasing her first solo work worldwide. The upcomming material will be entitled "Equilibrium" and is co-produced by her label buddy, Zed Bias. The album will be full of jazz inflections, soulful lyrics, and edge beats. The two singles off the album Gotta Keep Me Goin' and Pick Flowers are really convincing. Album is out on July 23rd. 

Lord Akton - Days

”Future meeting past”. Album ”Days” dropped yesterday on Green Shades Music, and has been constantly on repeat up in my headphones since the first minutes it saw its daylight. Lord Akton, 27 years old producer/DJ from Copenhagen, Denmark, comes up with a massive debut album, presenting 12 quality and very solid electronic beats. Album touches upon on everything from space-jazz to futuristic hip hop. ”Days” features two phenomenal guest appearances from mc Verb Ink and vocalist Astrid Engberg. SimiliarObjects - Shift Frequency Ep

Absolutely admire the work done by Darker Than Wax from Singapore - where do they get those cats? SimilarObjects from Makati (Philippines) caught our attention with his approach for cosmic hazy bleep-and-glitch infused beats. Keep an eye for him and DtW, the label has some fantastic emerging artists like Midnight Runners, Loki Laredo and Juno Akasawa, but only after a Frequency Shift here: 

Portformat - Entropy

Infusing R&B vocals w/ space hop rappin', glitch-like effects w/ future soul melodies all in one album? Portformat's Entropy hits straight into my 2012 top10 list, with a bullet. Tokyo Dawn's representative is aided with a terrific list of contributors like Georgia Ann Muldrow, Stan Smith, Pursuit Grooves and Miles Bonny just to name a few. Dâm-Funk - Tunnel (never released on CD version of Toeachizown)

This track has never been released on a CD version of Toeachizown but the wax edition only. Tunnels is placed on my favourite part of Toeachizown album - LAtrik, but those who havn't had a chance to listen to the vinyl edition, probably never listened to this tune. As Damon writes in description below the track placed on soundcloud: "On a train, in route to London from Glasgow & this joint I did for the Toeachizown album came on my headphones. Was looking out the window & remembering things in my life, up until where I am now. Yeah, tunnels.. we all go thru 'em. U just gotta make sure U get the point in 'em, where U can see the light".  Say thank you, as Dâm is giving it as a free download.

Greeen Linez - Hibiscus Pacific

Greeen Linez is an intercontinental duo by Christopher Greenberg (Hong Kong in the 60's/Tokyo) and Matt Lyne (A Taut Line/Cambridge). Hibiscus Pacific, 1st single from the upcoming Things That Fade album due to be released on Disktopia  holds on to the leftfield-disco-funk vibe from the nostalgic time of the 80's and is just perfect for the upcoming summer. I'm hoping for a physical release, but if not keep and eye at juno and boomkat, cuz it'll surely be available from those sites. Midnight Runners - High City Express

Midnight Runners, are true modern boogie funk lovers. The duo consists of Yordan and Munir, both hailing from the most populated island on earth - Java (Indonesia). After listening to the tune "High City Express" you will see that Asia got the Funk. They really do!

Groundislava - Panorama (Clive Tanaka and Beaunoise Remix)

We simply had to share this one with you. This gem-like remix of Panorama by Clive Tanaka & Beaunoise is so surreal that it will take you into another fantasy layer. The song was originally made by Groundislava, put on his self-titled debut album, on red, translucent vinyl. The remix is added as a bouns track on 7" translucent gold vinyl. The album is still availible,  just spend some time on looking for it on the internet. You can download the remix FOR FREE from Groundislava's bandcamp profile. Make sure you have this track in your iTunes library.

Débruit - From The Horizon

Persian Funk Ambassador, Débruit himself after 3 long years is finally releasing  new LP. The first track I heard was Akoula way back in february in Gilles' show on BBC Radio and it surely foreshadowed sth big.

From The Horizon drops June 4th on double gold vinyl and sets the standard even higher. Apart from signature synths and wonkyness (if you know what I mean) obscure samples from Western Africa funk, highlife and psych genres set the musical core of the album. Madlib sampled those it the classic way on his Beat Conducta series, but Débruit just goes to another level. Grab the wax fast, cuz it gets sold out quite quickly (HHV.de still has some copies) and here's the preview mix:

He definitely caught our attention with his latest video for the new and impressive track featuring Nikko Gray. The song Bird(s).i.view. has been produced by Brook d’Leau of J*DaVeY – does this name ring a bell for you? I bet so. V.A. - Personal Space: Electronic Soul 1974-1984

Personal Space compilation sends us almost 40 years back to America's 70's Soul scene, just on the brink of revolution which changed the way music is produced till today. The collection of tracks highlights the rise of bedroom soul/r'n'b producers who started making music home-alone with the aid of first drum machines, synths and other affordable equipment. Lo-Fi-obscure tunes from musicians like Jeff Phelps or Starship Commander Woo Woo can't be groundbreaking by today standards, but it's still a fascinating musical time capsule about electronic music. Especially with another revolution already in place - when a studio can be squeezed into laptops, only this time it's the emerging bedroom producers from Beats/Modern Funk/Electronica scenes taking over the internet. Yosi Horikawa - PlayGround Mix 084

Jay love Japan, LA love Japan, Beatscapes love Japan. Our genuine love and fascination with modern Japanese music led us to the discovery of Yosi Horikawa, a Tokyo based producer, who has unique sound and musical approach. Along with his fellow friend from Japan - Daisuke Tanabe, he is becoming one of Japan's most exciting musical exports when it comes to the broad understood genre, which is electronica/hip hop. We can soon expect Yosi delivering an EP album on London's First Word (home to Kidkanevil and Fugelance), which is to drop on June 19th. Meanwhile you can enjoy his great mix recorded for PlayGround - an astonishing diversity of sounds delivered by Yosi. Worth your time.

Stanley Bloom & Mike Ro Wave - Pacific Shore
