Ambassadeurs - My World

Well, what am I supposed to do when a soulful jam like this appears on XLR8R as a free DL? It is not always I check the free downloads on XLR8R, but when I finally check them out, they're good. Same this time. Brighton-based DJ/producer Ambassadeurs breakes the silence since his last release with a track called "My World". With hypnotic vocal chop, sweeping keys, and variety of percussion it hard to classify the genre of this jam. Still it's lovely and soulful. Make sure you have it in your music library.

Antoine Rocky-Horror - "Machine Gun Boogie"

Cosmic Chronic is a record label company based in Miami, FL, responsible for releasing music from Miami-centric artists in the styles of boogie-funk, electro, hip-hop, salsa, jazz etc. This super hot 45 was produced by Antoine Rocky-Horror with the "Machine Gun Boogie" on A side, makin' it one of the essential 7-inches this year. Available at good music webshops such as Juno or hhv.de.

Frank Mitchell Jr. - Booty Lock

Frank Mitchell Jr. hails from Washington DC, has voice like honey and sensibilities of a man that would make Prince blush. During regular sunday digging I stumbled upon this 7" killa record, featuring roller-skating disco jam "Booty Lock" on A side. Side B features another super funky track called "Body and Mind". Both tracks produced by Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation. Happy Sunday.

Matthewdavid - 'Producers in 2012 Learn to Spread Love'

Most of the people would most likely never hear of Matthewdavid (maybe apart from the true diggers) if he wouldn't make the move from southern US to LA. Since in LA his sounds became embraced by the famous Brainfeeder community, Matthewdavid turned into somebody more recognizable.

Mathhewdavid just shared a new EP entitled Producers in 2012 Learn to Spread Love. Quite interesting title, I admit. What no doubt should catch your attention is the Rick James cover. The EP begins with the cover of the killa track "All Night Long" by mentioned Rick James. Two other songs are originals that may seem as echoed-out dub or slowed soul. Booty Thrill - Bungalow Funk (video)

Well hello, it's been a long time, I know. We've been busy, been on some exciting excursions, like visiting Warsaw for Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp Reunion, etc. etc. But here we are again, fresh as fuck, and ready to post some music :)
Although Booty Thrill's Thrillwave has been released for a chunk of time ago, this video was put on youtube nearly two weeks ago, so it's a quite new stuff. So damn uplifting that it made me stop thinking about approaching school and fall. Get Thrillwave from Booty Thrill's Bandcamp.

Along Dam-Funk's next album probably the most anticipated Future Funk release this Fall. The Starship Connection Synthesizer Bass-Funk Quartet constists of B.Bravo, Teeko, D-Nasty and Bob-O. #rediscovered: Ron Richardson - Ooh Wee Babe

Boogie Times Records re-released recently a classic boogie funk 12'' straight from 1983. Ron Richardson  has been a one hit wonder, but Ooh Wee Babe probably fills the dancefloors to this day. Only 250 copies got repressed so don't sleep on this! Click to play and download:

Funkineven & Fatima - Phoneline EP

Yes! Fatima and Funkineven collaborate once again, but this EP just hits the next level. 90's joint kicks off with a smooth blend of soul and r'n'b, but East 2 West quickly jumps to the future funk-boogie bracket with vintage drum pads and synths that would make Dâm-Funk in LA really proud.The title track Phoneline is just brilliant, absolute banger of a tune - Fatima nails it as well as Funkineven on the mpc. The Noodleman - Dub Sauce EP

Looking for totally sth else I stumbled across Noodlemans new release on Kolour Limited. Absolutely love the soulful slo-mo groove on Sloppy Angel and the balearic tones on PM Dawb. Jah Never Mind's a bit under par imho, but the minty green wax and disco-boogie killer Non-Stop as A2 make up for it.

Kaees - Red Cabrio EP

Red Cabrio EP was laying way too long in our mailbox, sorry Kaees! The EP is a perfect way to introduce yourself. Interesting sound palette (not those knxwledge/Taku/AbJo folks who sound so generic that it's just sad how the scene has gone backwards) and smoothly jumping into diffferent soundscapes, but without a scattergun approach.
